Welcome to the task of conversational data analysis.

In this task, you will have to chat with the bot and answer some questions. The primary goal is to formulate hypotheses that are relevant to both the dataset and the analysis goal that has been provided. A hypothesis is “an idea or explanation for something that is based on known facts but has not yet been proved.” By accepting this task, you are participating in a study being performed by researchers at the University of Zurich Department of Informatics. Instructions

This task will be in a chat environment; you will submit your answers through a conversation in a chat.

The whole task is structured as follows:

1. Welcome dialogues

2. Tutorial: Introduction to a sample Dataset and example hypotheses.

3. Main Task: Get to know the main Dataset

4. Main Task: Write 2-3 Hypotheses in 2-3 smaller subtasks

5. Short post-task survey

Participation

Before you start the study, please read the following: 1. You must be fluent in English to participate. 2. You can not participate in this HIT more than once

The entire chat will last about 30 - 40 minutes.

Your average payoff including the participation fee will be around 7.50$ per hourn depending on your decisions and the quality of your answers.

You will be given detailed information on how to complete the task.

Privacy:

The only personal information that will be available to the researchers is what is publicly available on your MTurk profile and any information that you choose to provide during the course of the study.
